LIVE AT BRIXTON DIGIAL VIDEO AND AUDIO RELEASED DECEMBER 10th

MASTODON, which released a limited-run lager in 2009, is once again retuning to one of their favorite pastimes: The enjoyment of quality handcrafted beer.  Fortuitous that British craft beer makers Signature Brew along with the members of Mastodon have teamed up to create Black Tongue Brew, an 8.3% ABV Double Black IPA.The beer is made in the U.K. and can be shipped to customers in the U.S., Canada, and other territories beginning December 3rd.  Mastodon fans and custom beer appreciators can now enjoy this feisty and festive dark beverage everywhere in the world.  Pre-order it here.

Signature Brew has described Black Tongue thusly: “Rumbling smoky notes are offset by the elixir of misbehaving punchy hops. Mosaic and Magnum hops to the front, with Carafa Special 3 Malt and Pale on the baseline. The band wanted to create a ‘pallet crusher’ and that’s certainly what has been delivered. A beer for enjoying slowly, letting the bombardment of flavour and intensity hit your tongue and explode with every sip.”

In addition to collaborating on the perfect brew, Mastodon has been in the studio working on their sixth album, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records next year. As previously announced, December 10th, is the release date for Live At Brixton – digital-only video and audio versions of their sold-out show at London’s O2 Academy that capped off the Atlanta-based band’s world tour in support of their critically acclaimed album The Hunter. IN THIS MOMENT are kicking off 2014 with more than a bang – they’re ushering in the new year with THE HELLPOP TOUR II. Set to launch January 2 in Portland, OR, the 16-city tour wraps January 5 in South Florida, where the band will then embark on the SHIPROCKED cruise. Joining IN THIS MOMENT on HELLPOP II are BUTCHER BABIES in direct support, DEVOUR THE DAY and ALL HAIL THE YETI. Complete dates are below.

The Crowd Surge fan club pre-sale will start Wednesday, November 13, at noon EST, with tickets going on-sale to the public on Friday, November 15. The fan club pre-sales offer two packages, one with a ticket and pre-show meet and greet, and the other including a ticket, t-shirt and meet and greet. For more details on fan club packages, please visit the official In This Moment Facebook page.

IN THIS MOMENT are currently on the road headlining the first leg of their HELLPOP tour, which kicked off October 24 in Tempe, AZ and runs through November 27 in Los Angeles, CA. The tour is being fueled by the band’s continued success at radio, where current single “Whore” sits at #21 at Active Rock formats and is poised to break the Top 20. Watch the provocative lyric video for “Whore” here.

“I am so proud and excited for the world to hear ‘Whore’,” says IN THIS MOMENT frontwoman Maria Brink of her band’s latest single. “The message behind this song is taking back control. It is about taking the power from a disgusting and degrading word and turning it back around on the accuser. It’s about self-empowerment, love and liberation. This is an honest and raw movement that needs to be heard.”

The imagery the band has created around “Whore” is just as provocative: “I decided to pose nude for the visual art for ‘Whore’ to evoke a raw vulnerable emotion. The word WHORE written down my back and the dunce cap symbolize me placing myself on the stake for those who are suffering, and I can only hope to encourage at least one person to find the self worth and love they deserve to transcend out of a painful situation into a beautiful one. It is about finding our power and taking a stand.  We are resilient beings and need to realize our incredible strengths. I will not bow down to others perceptions of me. I will only rise in the name of art, love and music.”

“Whore” is the third single from IN THIS MOMENT’s Century Media Records release ‘Blood’. The album was released in August 2012 and marked the highest debut of the band’s career, entering the Billboard Top 200 at No. 15 and selling more than 20,000 units first week. The record has emerged as one of the best selling rock albums of the past year, with sales of more than 195,000, and counting.

From January 26-30, 2014, the band will be making a return engagement on the SHIPROCKED cruise, where they will set sail out of Miami, FL, to Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. For more information, visit www.shiprocked.com.

Band Hosting SiriusXM Octane Takeover All Weekend

“Die For You” #28 At Active Rock Radio With Increasing Spins

“Rebel Yell” Single Set For November 11 iTunes Release

In celebration of their fans, Las Vegas rockers OTHERWISE have just released the acoustic ‘ENJOY THE PAIN’ EP for free via the website www.EnjoyThePainEP.com. The album contains five brand new songs, all written and recorded entirely on the road. The special features an interview, acoustic performance, and the band taking over the Octane playlist. In early 2012, OTHERWISE became the first unsigned band to reach No. 1 on the Octane Big ‘Uns Countdown – SiriusXM launched the band’s career into the national spotlight, and now they are helping OTHERWISE deliver ‘ENJOY THE PAIN’ to their fans.

The OTHERWISE SiriusXM Octane takeover will repeat at the following times this weekend, and is also available via SiriusXM On Demand:

“‘ENJOY THE PAIN‘ is our gift to you. It’s our way of saying thank you for the success you’ve helped us earn, and a little something to hold you over until our next full length album is released in 2014,” says OTHERWISE of the EP. “We recorded this entirely on our own, on the road, in between shows while out on tour. If we couldn’t find a quiet bedroom or bathroom to track in, we’d record while literally driving down the highway… The process wasn’t easy. It wasn’t slick. It wasn’t normal. It didn’t adhere to any set of rules, guidelines, or industry standards. At times it was painful… And we enjoyed every minute of it. So please, ‘ENJOY THE PAIN’ with us… and enjoy this EP.”

‘ENJOY THE PAIN’ Track Listing:

1. 60 MPH

2. Once In My Dreams

3. Enjoy The Pain

4. Miles Of Rain

5. Burn Away (III Reprise)

In the 18 months since the release of their ‘True Love Never Dies’ debut, OTHERWISE have gone from local Las Vegas favorites to one of America’s best-selling breakout acts. Now, they’re giving something back to the fans that have embraced the band as their own. A first track from the album, “Miles Of Rain,” can be heard here.

To compliment the free EP, on November 11 the band will release an iTunes-exclusive single featuring an acoustic cover of the BILLY IDOL hit “Rebel Yell” and an acoustic version of “Heaven,” the closing track from ‘True Love Never Dies’.

“Die For You”, the third single from the band’s debut album, is currently at No. 28 at Active Rock radio – click here to watch the single’s official lyric video. The follow-up to breakout hits “Soldiers” and “I Don’t Apologize (1000 Pictures),” “Die For You” is a full-throttle anthem of undying devotion in the face of betrayal. “Soldiers” has sold more than 100,000 digital tracks, and the band has amassed more than 2.4 million total views on YouTube. Rock Radio Legend LOU BRUTUS Voted 2013 Best DJ in America

Posted in All Metal, Featured, News, Photos, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on November 11, 2013 by Randy

Radio Contraband Rock Radio Awards Voters Crown Lou Brutus At Star Studded Ceremony in Las Vegas

Brutus Will Release New Album with His Band GRUMPY OLD PUNKS and Continue Work on His Book “One Man – Two Thousand Concerts: The Greatest Freakin’ Collection of Rock Show Junk in History”

Rock Radio stalwart LOU BRUTUS has been voted Best DJ in America by voters in the Rock Radio Awards sponsored by Radio Contraband. Winners were announced Friday October 18th 2013 during a nighttime, poolside ceremony at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV.

It was the first year for a Best DJ category at the awards. LOU BRUTUS  was chosen over other nominees including Nikki Sixx, Paul Marshall, Brock Haven, and Greg Atoms. Brutus was handed the award by Rick DeJesus, lead singer of the band of Adelitas Way. Performers at the ceremony included Wicked Wisdom (featuring Jada Pinkett Smith), Burn Halo, and Emphatic. Upon accepting the award Brutus said, “I can’t believe I get to do this shit for a living.” He then thanked his dog Darla.

LOU BRUTUS is best known for his seventeen plus years of national syndication as well as his work on other national radio platforms. He has done local shows in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington DC, and Providence.

Brutus has also hosted radio specials and/or created radio channels for Metallica, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Rush, Disturbed, Theory of a Deadman, Smashing Pumpkins, and countless others. He was the very first to give national airplay to innumerable bands includingSlipknot, Halestorm, Five Finger Death Punch and Sevendust.

LOU BRUTUS has garnered tremendous amounts of positive press for both his intensely creative on air work and ground breaking original programming… all without ever running afoul of the F.C.C. Publications such as Rolling Stone, USA Today and Entertainment Weekly have sung the praises of his work.

His creative flair has led him to national success as a performer in the Ohio State versus Michigan football rivalry band Dead Schembechlers with whom he has appeared on HBO. Lou is the group’s lead singer, songwriter and official mouthpiece, Bo Biafra. He is the lyricist of the world’s first cow punk rock opera, “Hee Haw Hell,” which was recorded by legendary swamp rock band Dash Rip Rock. Additionally, he has several baseball inspired pieces he’s written and recorded featured on the Diamond Cuts album series, which he released under the moniker of Lou Brutus and the Perfect Pachydermus Percussion Pitches. His latest musical foray is as the creator and lead singer of the Grumpy Old Punks, which he describes as “middle aged punk rock rage.” Their self-titled debut album “Grumpy Old Punks” was released in 2011 with the follow up “Anarchy in the Prostate” in 2012. In 2014, they’ll release their third EP “Driving Around with the Blinker On.”

He has also produced his own series of comic books, “The Adventures of Brutusman,” as well as bottled his own line of micro brewed beers “Lou-in-Brau” and “Brew Loutus Ale.”

In what little spare time he has, Lou is an accomplished photographer.  His lighthouse photography has graced magazine covers and has worked the last six seasons as an on field Major League Baseball photographer. He often shoots rock bands as he travels the world to interview them.

LOU BRUTUS is currently working on three different books. The first is a coffee table book of his backstage pass, ticket stub, guitar pick, and concert poster collection entitled “One Man – Two Thousand Concerts: The Greatest Freakin’ Collection of Rock Show Junk in History,” the second is an unauthorized autobiography Dead Schembechlers: The Rise, Fall & Redemption of The Best Damn Punk Band in the Landbeing co-written with Joe Oestreich, while the third is a baseball themed children’s book being illustrated by Alan MacBain.
