THE JÄGERMEISTER PRESENTS TOUR FEATURING CHIMAIRA AND UNEARTH

(New York, NY) — CHIMAIRA will be heading out on the road for a round of dates with UNEARTH this fall on “THE JÄGERMEISTER PRESENTS TOUR”. The Jägermeister Presents Tour featuring Chimaira will begin October 10th in Kent, Ohio. The band will be touring in support of their latest record “The Age of Hell” and will be embarking on an Australian and European tour in 2012, followed by more US touring.

“We are extremely excited to hit the road with our old friends in Unearth,” says Mark Hunter. “Crazy to think that our bands have been playing shows for over 10 years but never headlined together in the states. A lot of fans have been waiting for this line-up and now the wait is over. This is going to be a blast! Our friends at Jägermeister will be supplying the fun, we’ll be blasting the tunes, and you guys bring the ruckus! I guarantee you don’t want to miss this!”

Tickets will be on sale to the general public starting September 23 through each venue’s ticketing outlet. Please check local listings orChimaira’s official website for more details.

After over 12 years of defining what Cleveland metal and brutal music should sound like, CHIMAIRA advances their trademark brand of heavy with their latest monster, The Age of Hell. As with mostCHIMAIRA records, the composition of the record was fraught with adversity. Longtime drummer, Andols Herrick, bass player Jim Lamarca, and electronic knob twister, Chris Spicuzza, had fallen away from the band, leaving CHIMAIRA’s flagship member and singer, Mark Hunter, and guitarists Rob Arnold and Matt Devries with an album to record for their debut on Eone/Longbranch with no rhythm section or effects specialist. The splintered CHIMAIRA could have stared at the sun, dissecting separate fires then converging into a singular sphere of blinding defeat. Instead, Hunter, Arnold, and Devries pushed themselves into frequent collaborator, Ben Schigel’s Spider Studios. Now, the eclipse of what you thought you knew about contemporary metal has begun.

Skeletonwitch and Molotov Solution will also be joining these bands on the road.

CHIMAIRA released their eOne debut last month, August 16th to much critical praise. Alternative Press recently called the new record“Chimaira’s most ferocious material to date.” Preview or purchase on iTunes HERE. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to watch a brand new music video for the track “Year Of The Snake” HERE.

CHIMAIRA is Mark Hunter – Vocals, Rob Arnold – Lead Guitar, Matt DeVries – Guitar, Emil Werstler – Bass, Sean Z – Keys and Austin D’Amond – Drums

ANTHRAX’S “WORSHIP MUSIC” DEBUTS ON BILLBOARDS TOP 20!

Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, News with tags , , , on September 22, 2011 by Randy

LOS ANGELES, CA – Wednesday, September 21, 2011 – “Worship Music“, (Megaforce) Anthrax’sfirst studio album in eight years and its first with vocalist Joey Belladonna since 1990’s “Persistence of Time,” blasts onto next week’s Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #12, the band’s highest chart debut in two decades, and second-highest in its career, selling 28,500 copies.

And if that’s not enough, Worship Music” debuted at #4 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Chart, #3 on the Hard Music Core Chart, and #2 at both the Indie and Indie Core Stores charts.

“I am most proud of our fans who came out and gave us the amazing support they did,” saidAnthrax’s Charlie Benante. “To have our record debut at #12 is a great accomplishment.”

Added the band’s Scott Ian, “I’m absolutely thrilled with the fact that our Anthrax Army came out in force this week to show the world that good music matters. Thank you to all our friends, old and new! It’s a privilege to do this for you.”

While the recording of Worship Music was challenging and at some times difficult, it was at the core of an extraordinary experience for a band that had questioned its very future. Anthrax’s turning point took place in 2009 at a Cleveland hotel bar with Metallica’s Lars Ulrich when he first brought up the idea of The Big Four. That led to Anthrax’s decision to get Belladonna back in the band on a permanent basis, and to the complete refashioning of the previously-recorded tracks for “Worship Music” with Belladonna’s inimitable vocal stamp. Pre-release reviews of “Worship Music” hailed the album as not only a career-best for Anthrax, but “the metal album of the year,” and last week’s New York homecoming concert at Yankee Stadium as one of the original architects of speed and thrash metal with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth – The Big Four – only added to Anthrax’sremarkable renewal.

Anthrax hits the road beginning October 14 on a five-week, coast-to-coast tour with Testament andDeath Angel.

ROADRUNNER RECORDS WELCOMES THE AMITY AFFLICTION

Posted in Artist Watch, News, Releases with tags , , , , on September 21, 2011 by Randy

AUSTRALIAN BAND TO RELEASE YOUNGBLOODS on OCTOBER 25

BAND TO TOUR THIS FALL

New York, NY: Roadrunner Records is pleased to announce the signing of The Amity Affliction, easily one of the most head-turning and exciting hard rock bands to come barreling out of Australia. The band has scorched a trail Down Under and is now poised to stake its claim in the U.S. Roadrunner will release Youngbloods digitally on Oct. 25 and the band will head back  into the studio in early 2012 to record the follow up with Youngbloods producer Machine (Lamb of God, Cobra Starship, Suicide Silence.)

The Amity Affliction’s humble origins date back six years ago in a small town in Queensland, Australia.  With an industrial sized bucket of elbow grease, the band became a fixture on the local touring circuit.  The Amity Affliction quickly ascended the ranks and became one of the best-loved bands in Oz. Armed with cheeky song titles, a party attitude and the type of aggressive and forward- thinking metal that will simultaneously make you think while putting hair on your chest, The Amity Affliction deliver a poignant message encased in mosh-worthy anthems.

“Ever since I can remember in Amity we’ve been dreaming big: big tours, big shows, big crowds, but never in our wildest dreams did we ever think something this big would come around,” frontman Joel Birch said. “Signing to Roadrunner worldwide is almost beyond a dream come true, because there’s no way any of us would have ever dreamed of being able to achieve something this monumental.”

Birch continued, “We’re proud to be added to such an incredible roster of bands, and having already spent time with some of the team at the label, we’re excited to become a part of the larger Roadrunner family. This is a massive step forward for us as a band, and one we’re going to be pouring all our energy into in the future.”

The band’s most recent album Youngbloods debuted at No. 6 on the Album Charts in Australia and went on to get unprecedented nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance at both the ARIA and IMA Awards.  Following extensive touring overseas and an early evening slot on Soundwave 2011, the band returned to headline Australian in late May, selling 15,000+ tickets over the course of eight shows, including 4500 tickets at their Brisbane homecoming at the outdoor Riverstage arena. Youngbloods was voted Best Album of 2011 on Triple J’s Short Fast Loud program and in Blunt Magazine, where they notched for their third cover in 18 months. That issue lands this coming October.

Clearly, The Amity Affliction have canvassed their native land. Now it’s time for the rest of the world to catch on.
