New York, NY (March 16, 2011) – All American Anthemic rockers, Drowning Pool are three shows in on their headlining tour and have begun strong by playing to packed crowds. Supporting hit singles “Feel Like I Do” and “Turn So Cold” from their self-titled studio album (Drowning Pool via Eleven Seven Music), this is the band’s first headlining tour since their successful run with Godsmack. Pop Evil will be joining the US trek as direct support starting tonight in Farmington, NM and Anew Revolution, Trust Co. and Static Cycle will continue to round out the bill through the end of April (Please see below for a list of tour dates). Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.drowningpool.com.

Drowning Pool turned the world into believers with their breakthrough single “Bodies” in 2001. Ten years, three singers and four albums later, they’re giving fans a new reason to believe.  “Feel Like I Do,” the lead single from their self-titled fourth studio release [Eleven Seven Music], became the band’s biggest radio hit to date, reaching No. 2 at Active Rock Radio, and remaining in the Top 5 for 12-weeks.  With 2009’s “37 Stitches” off of Full Circlereaching #4 at Active Rock and “Feel Like I Do,” the band had 2 consecutive Top 5 Active Rock smashes and cemented their place as one of the top hard rock acts today.  Recent successes have paved the way for unique opportunities such as presenting the Lane Evans Mental Health Care Reform to then-senator Barack Obama on Capitol Hill, performing for our troops all over the world and partnering with organizations like The Wounded Warrior Project and the G.I. Film Festival.

DROWNING POOL is:  Ryan McCombs-vocals, CJ Pierce-guitar, Stevie Benton-bass and Mike Luce-drums.

Los Lonely Boys will release their new album, Rockpango on March 29th through the band’s own Lonely Tone imprint with Playing in Traffic Records. A “Spanglish” word coined by the band, Rockpango translates more or less to “rock party.” The 11-track collection stands as the most personal work to date by the Grammy-winning Garza brothers – Henry, Ringo, and Jojo – who wrote, recorded and produced the record themselves. Rockpango will also be available in a Deluxe Edition featuring three bonus songs, exclusive behind the scenes video, and a fold-out poster of the cover art.

“Fly Away” is the first single from the new album, an uplifting song rich with the Garza brothers’ trademark harmonies and brilliant guitar work. Visit and find out how to receive the track for free.

NEW ROSE RELEASES SANDMAN VIPER COMMAND’S ROUGH LOVE 7INCH APRIL 5th, PRE-ORDERS AVAILABLE NOW BAND SUPPORTING …AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD & SURFER BLOOD IN TORONTO MAY 3RD

Posted in Canadian Artist News with tags , , , on March 16, 2011 by Randy

Sandman Viper Command‘s much anticipated 7inch release will be released to the public on April 5th via New Rose. Pre-Orders are available now. Fans can stream the new songs on the band’s myspace now. The 7inch was recorded and produced by Jon Drew whose impressive resume includes Fucked Up, Tokyo Police Club, and Alexisonfire. The two new tracks displaySandman Viper Command‘s unique ability to reinvent rock n’ roll in a familiar way.

The title track “Rough Love” is an indie rock masterpiece; sprawling from theatrical simplicity to balls-out rock and roll explosions. Rob Janson’s vocals lead the listener through an extravagant journey touching on the trials and tribulations of love and lust. Fans who pre-order the record will receive a free copy of Sandman Viper Command‘s debut album, Everybody See This CD and a Sandman Viper Command poster.

The band sets out on a western Canadian tour next week where they will bring their visceral live performances to new stages. When they return home from tour, the band will celebrate their 7inch release on home soil. They will open for …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead and Surfer Blood at Toronto’s Lees Palace on May 3rd.

Sandman Viper Command have already received the nod of approval from critics alike. They were named a band to watch by MSN Canada, featured on the cover of Echo Weekly in Guelph, and nominated for a Hamilton Music Award. They will be playing the side stage at this year’s Edgefest and in the past have shared stages with the likes of Japandroids, Holy Fuck, Wavves, and many more.

BIO
When most kids their age were riffling through college textbooks and figuring out the path of least resistance towards some sort of stable income, these small town boys were riffling through their parents record collections, studying the messy emotion-fuelled rock of Pavement and the fuzzy post-rock discography of Sonic Youth, dreaming of ways they could marry it all together. So far it hasn’t worn off, being the average age of 21, they still have their collective sights set on a future a little bit more shaky and unstable than the rest of their peers.

In the beginning, the four best friends who make up the ambitiously named outfit (Rob Janson, Aaron Harvey, Dan Reardon, Matt Meyer) locked themselves up for days in their parents’ basements practicing and refining demos, only emerging when they had stumbled upon the most perfect blend of garage pop/guitar fuzz rock this side of the border has heard in a long time. It’s this obsessive compulsiveness in their music that pays off huge on their independently released debut, Everybody See This. In the same way the Strokes released a sonically moving debut album, it is apparent that this is much more than an average first run from a bunch of college dropouts. This is a band with a future. Everybody See This is ripe and bubbling with the type of youthful rage you can’t fake. It’s delicate and fragile in all the right places and thoroughly captivating from start to finish. In the same way they originally honed their sound, Sandman Viper Command isolated themselves for six months in a barn on the outskirts of Hamilton, Ontario with producer Dave King, recording intensely to make sure Everybody See This captured the raw, frenetic qualities of the band, and achieving that lofty childhood goal of creating a sound they can call their own.

Everybody See This has lots of variety, yet never sacrifices the consistency of the full release. Lead single “Strawberry Quick” is like a parasite, vague enough for any heartless teenager to fill in the gaps with their own lost stories of lust-filled nights. “Oh Yeah, It’s Fusion” is a right proper sing-a-long while balancing on the edge of being nerdy art rock and an angular ambient guitar jam.

And like any good band, a great album is followed up by a great live show. Young as they may be, put these four handsome musicians on stage and you have a band with a cohesive attitude. Their tight performance chops earned them opening spots for the likes of Holy Fuck, The Arkells, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and more.

It didn’t take their hometown of Burlington, Ontario and the surrounding cities long to pick up on this truly great find. Hamilton’s View magazine scribed, “Sandman Viper Command conjures up references to Sloan – but in a way that is still fresh… for a debut recording, this is a standout on so many levels… the band to watch in 2010” and the Hamilton Spectator was quick to state, “”Everyone ‘gets’ Sandman Viper Command”. In an unconventional twist the band’s song “Yo Bobcat” debuted on the Fan590’s “Prime Time Sports” with Bob McCown, in what the band can only refer to as the “collapsing of a quantum waveform” presenting them with national coverage and since then SVC have even been referred to as the “house band” of the show, by Bob himself!

While She Sleeps Unveils New Worldwide Digital Single and Music Video for ‘Be(lie)ve’ at BlankTV’s Official YouTube Page

Posted in Releases with tags , , , , on March 16, 2011 by Randy

Sheffield, England’s WHILE SHE SLEEPS and BlankTV are pleased to unveil the brand new music video for the band’s new single, ‘Be(lie)ve’. The video is available for viewing now at BlankTV’s official YouTube page. The single is being released digitally worldwide by GOOD FIGHT MUSIC and is available now at iTunes and other digital stores. ‘Be(lie)ve’ was self-recorded and mixed by guitarist Mat Welsh in January 2011 in order to keep in tune with the band’s DIY ethics and style.

‘Be(lie)ve’ is a track that sets to bridge the gap between the band’s last album, The North Stands for Nothing, and a new, currently untitled album that the band is presently writing. As for the meaning behind the track, ‘Be(lie)ve’ sheds light on everything wrong that we see around us day after day in society, and how we rebel against it. The track reflects the passion and drive that is WHILE SHE SLEEPS.

WHILE SHE SLEEPS released their digital-only album, The North Stands for Nothing on GOOD FIGHT MUSIC in November.  For more information on WHILE SHE SLEEPS, please visit these sites:
