BRIAN HEAD WELCH ANNOUNCES NEW BAND NAME LOVE & DEATH

February 6th, 2012 – Former Korn guitarist Brian Head Welch marks a new beginning with the announcement that his band will now go by the name Love & Death. “I put this band together in 2009” states Welch. “Since then, we’ve experienced some very intense highs and lows. Michael Valentine, Dan Johnson, J.R. Bareis and myself have toured around the world playing a lot of killer shows, but we’ve also had some heart shattering difficulties along the way as well. To us, the name “Love and Death” symbolizes everything we’ve been through as a band over the last few years. We love this band so much and we’ll go through hell to connect with our fans. We’ve proven that to ourselves over and over again.”

With Love & Death, the music now lives under it’s own banner. “Many people have confused my speaking dates and our band dates because they were both being booked as Brian Head Welch” says Welch. “I have wanted to use a band name for branding my music for a few years. It has been an ongoing discussion with my management, but we were just starting to tour and I was in the middle of supporting my third book and it seemed like a bad time to switch names. Now with the new music coming out, its time to really separate the things I do. I want the music to be about music. I will still be doing public speaking under Brian Head Welch. I am happy that all the confusion will be over.”

The band formed when Welch decided to have open auditions on YouTube in 2009. “I picked the guys and then had a jam session in Phoenix” says Welch. “Over the last couple of years, there have been a few line up changes as we went through normal growing pains. The current band has been together and touring for a while now and they are a big part of the new music and the future of LOVE & DEATH.”

Along with the new band name, Love and Death’s first official music project will be released on April 24th. The first single “Chemicals” will be released sometime in March, along with an intense semi-animated music video shot by POAB Designs/Martillo Pictures.

The band’s latest single “Paralyzed” is already #5 on the BDS rock chart (the single was released under the name Brian Head Welch). “Paralyzed” was produced by Jason Rauch (Red, Breaking Benjamin) and mixed by Lee Bridges (Third Day, Newsboys).

Three decades after beginning its iconic journey of debauchery and decadence, Mötley Crüe has announced plans to invade Las Vegas with the city’s first-ever hard rock residency: Mötley Crüe In Sin City. The world’s most notorious band will he heading to the world’s most notorious city where they will perform an extended run—starting February 3 through 19–at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The iconic band will perform four shows a week. Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day and President’s Day fall within these dates.

In honor of Las Vegas’ first hard rock residency, “MÖTLEY CRÜE IN SIN CITY,” Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman has proclaimed Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 as “Mötley Crüe” Day.

DRAGONFORCE REVEAL DETAILS OF NEW ALBUM :: THE POWER WITHIN TO BE RELEASED APRIL 17 :: IT’S THE FIRST ALBUM TO FEATURE NEW SINGER MARC HUDSON

(New York): London-based metal superstars DragonForce have revealed details of their forthcoming new album. Entitled The Power Within, this 10-track monster marks the band’s fifth studio album and its first with new singer Marc Hudson behind the microphone. It will be released April 17 by Roadrunner Records in the U.S.

DragonForce guitarist Herman Li said, “The last two years have been the most fun we ever had making an album. Through writing, jamming and touring together, we have built this incredible energy and it has been fully captured on the new album.”

Li also claims the album boasts the fastest song the band has ever recorded. He continued, “This time around we’ve really brought our metal side to the surface and made some of the best music of our career. From the fastest song we’ve ever recorded to the slower songs, and some things you would never expect from us, this is by far the most diverse DragonForce album yet.”

KORN JOINED BY VERY SPECIAL GUEST KILL THE NOISE PAIR UP FOR THE NATIONAL TV DEBUT PERFORMANCE OF “NARCISSISTIC CANNIBAL” ON JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE TODAY, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2

As they gear up for the second leg of the Path of Totality Tour launching February 23 in Detroit, KORN will appear on ABC-TV’s “JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE” today, Thursday, February 2. The band–Jonathan Davis [Vocals], James “Munky” Shaffer [Guitar], Reggie “Fieldy” Arvizu [Bass] and Ray Luzier [Drums]—along with very special guest Kill the Noise, will perform their Top Five active rock single “Narcissistic Cannibal” on the show’s outdoor stage. This will mark the national TV live debut of the song. Meanwhile, on the touring front, Kill the Noise will provide support on various KORN tour dates (see below).

“Narcissistic Cannibal,” produced by Skrillex and Kill The Noise, is off KORN’s current release THE PATH OF TOTALITY (Roadrunner), another experimental chapter in their rich canon and history. The album finds the groundbreaking, influential and multi-platinum band shifting gears, taking a bit of a creative left turn (something they’ve been known to do throughout the course of their two-decade career) and exploring thrilling new territory with some of the hottest emerging producers and talent in the burgeoning electronic scene.
