(New York): London-based metal superstars DragonForce have revealed details of their forthcoming new album. Entitled The Power Within, this 10-track monster marks the band’s fifth studio album and its first with new singer Marc Hudson behind the microphone. It will be released April 17 by Roadrunner Records in the U.S.

DragonForce guitarist Herman Li said, “The last two years have been the most fun we ever had making an album. Through writing, jamming and touring together, we have built this incredible energy and it has been fully captured on the new album.”

Li also claims the album boasts the fastest song the band has ever recorded. He continued, “This time around we’ve really brought our metal side to the surface and made some of the best music of our career. From the fastest song we’ve ever recorded to the slower songs, and some things you would never expect from us, this is by far the most diverse DragonForce album yet.”

The full track listing for The Power Within is as follows:

1. Holding On

2. Fallen World

3. Cry Thunder

4. Give Me the Night

5. Wings of Liberty

6. Seasons

7. Heart of the Storm

8. Die By the Sword

9. Last Man Stands

10. Seasons (Acoustic Version)

There will also be a digital special edition featuring the bonus tracks “Cry Thunder (Live Rehearsal),”  “Heart of the Storm (Alternative Chorus Version)” and “Avant La Tempête (Instrumental).”
Look for exciting US tour announcements coming soon.

KORN JOINED BY VERY SPECIAL GUEST KILL THE NOISE PAIR UP FOR THE NATIONAL TV DEBUT PERFORMANCE OF “NARCISSISTIC CANNIBAL” ON JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE TODAY, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2

Posted in Artist Watch, News with tags , , , , , , , , on February 2, 2012 by Randy

As they gear up for the second leg of the Path of Totality Tour launching February 23 in Detroit, KORN will appear on ABC-TV’s “JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE” today, Thursday, February 2.  The band–Jonathan Davis [Vocals], James “Munky” Shaffer [Guitar], Reggie “Fieldy” Arvizu [Bass] and Ray Luzier [Drums]—along with very special guest Kill the Noise, will perform their Top Five active rock single “Narcissistic Cannibal” on the show’s outdoor stage.  This will mark the national TV live debut of the song. Meanwhile, on the touring front, Kill the Noise will provide support on various KORN tour dates (see below).

“Narcissistic Cannibal,” produced by Skrillex and Kill The Noise, is off KORN’s current release THE PATH OF TOTALITY (Roadrunner), another experimental chapter in their rich canon and history. The album finds the groundbreaking, influential and multi-platinum band shifting gears, taking a bit of a creative left turn (something they’ve been known to do throughout the course of their two-decade career) and exploring thrilling new territory with some of the hottest emerging producers and talent in the burgeoning electronic scene. It debuted Top 10 on the Billboard charts and was met with critical applause thanks to the band’s ability to remain fresh and relevant while collaborating with electronic producers Skrillex, 12th Planet, Kill the Noise, Excision, Flinch, Noisia, Datsik, Downlink, Feed Me and more.

KORN were recently profiled in the New York Times‘ Sunday section, celebrated for their ability to embrace dubstep. THE PATH OF TOTALITY has garnered praise and buzz, while being featured in NME, SPIN, Electronic Musician and Revolver, where it was named “Album Of The Year,” as well as on tastemaker sites such as RollingStone.com and Hype Machine.  Daniel Kohn of the LA WEEKLY raved about KORN’s recent record release event—which took place in December 2011 at the world-famous Palladium in Hollywood, CA, and featured the band alongside many of the producers on the album—calling it as “unique a show as I’ve ever seen.”

CREED: The Rock Tribune interview with Mark Tremonti

Posted in 2012 Interviews, Artist Watch, New Music, News with tags , , , , , , on February 1, 2012 by Randy

Plain and simple, you either love CREED or you hate them…but facts are facts.  Not only do they have a Grammy notch on their belt, they have also sold more than 40 million albums to date.  And maybe, just maybe, the last band to successfully sell CD’s in stores before the digital revolution.  For myself, it was an honor to speak with Mark Tremonti, part of the duo of songwriters that includes Scott Stapp.  Listen below as we go over the new album and tour, talk about CREED’s past, and chat about the amazing power of Twitter.  By Randy Hall
