The Young Presidents hit the Southeast!

New York, NY – (July 20, 2011) Hailed as Clear Channel’s “New Artist to Watch” – The Young Presidents – are following up their June release of debut album Freedom of Speech, with an extension of tour dates throughout the Southeast. Eager to take the record’s tracks on the road, the band prepares to start travel at the end of July, instruments in hand through select states until September.

The rock trifecta features Jake Hertzog on guitar and vocals, bassist Mitchell Kaneff, and Leon Bibi on the kit. Citing greats like Nirvana, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, and Train as influences, the threesome delivers tracks with a strong Alt-Rock exterior and a core of expertly articulated classic rock sensibilities. Freedom of Speech, which was released on MKM Records/KMG Music, boasts the group’s hit single “Wide Open”. The single serves as the perfect tune to whet appetites, markedly showcasing their keen awareness for stitching modern rock complexities with a throwback to power-trio compositions.

“A new band consisting of seasoned musicians, the trio known as The Young Presidents has quickly built its reputation on wildly energetic shows and songs that would sound perfectly at home on an iPod filed with The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana.” – Pollstar

“‘Wide Open’… a radio fav and is truly a film/tv friendly jam.” – The Comet

The recording of Major/Minor began May 2nd in Santa Monica, CA with Dave Schiffman at Red Bull Studios who mixed “Beggars” and engineered “Vheissu.” As a band that continues to push boundaries, Major/Minor will be no exception.   “It’s definitely the most natural progression from record to record that we’ve had in a while. We did The Alchemy Index, which was totally different [from Vheissu]. Then Beggars was kind of the reaction against that. This kind of makes sense coming out ofBeggars, but it’s definitely a different record,” says lead singer Dustin Kensrue.
