Regarding the video, the band stated, “We had a lot of fans asking on Facebook for a video, so we made one! The internet has changed the dialog you have with your fans which is great. We have a good friend Marcus von Boisman who is a great film maker and together we worked up this idea of facing fear and finding love.”It has been four years since Blindside toured the U.S., and this fall the wait is finally over. The popular rock band will visit 18 cities this fall on their “Shivering Hearts Tour” in support of their latest release With Shivering Hearts We Wait, with the help from fellow rockers Write This Down from Tooth & Nail Records and Indie Swedish band Intohimo.

 

“The tour starts 2 years to the day after we started recording the record out in LA,” says Blindside’s Christian Linskog. “Even for us this tour has been a long time coming. I think the thing we are most looking forward to is seeing the fans again. For years we have been talking through Facebook it is going to be great to face to face after this long break.”

Consisting of Joe McFaddin (vocals/guitar), Jake Bonham (guitar), Jake Sims (bass), and Jake Rinehart (drums), 2011 is expected to be an even bigger year for This Love, as they plan the release of their sophomore album, At War. At War is a full concept album on the conflict between love and hate; man vs. himself. Despite the forward title, this is not about a physical “war’, but an everyday battle in regards of doing the things you, yourself, want to do vs. society’s status quo. It is about the choice that one must make in following their passion; being and showing love to this world before falling into the ever-trending hateful ways. All in all, this is meant to be an inspiring story that will bring victory to the listeners’ ears with truth and light in every song.

Since releasing their debut EP, The Beginning, in the summer of 2010, This Love quickly gathered critical acclaim from press and fans alike. The band received praise from AbsolutePunk and was named in the “Absolute 100 bands you need to know”, was regularly featured on Purevolume and theirexclusive playlist, graced the cover of Substream Magazine, as well as being featured on Fearless Radio, DJ Rossstar, The Gunz Show, and much more.

The band showed no signs of slowing down in 2010, and the music industry quickly took notice.  Journey’s shoes decided to pick up the bands video “Like a Million Lights” and feature the video in all Journeys stores nationwide.  Other retailers quickly caught the buzz of This Love and Hot Topic placed their EP, The Beginning, in all locations. In addition, the band still found time to play shows with the likes of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Let’s Get It, Cute is What We Aim For, The Bigger Lights, Friday Night Boys, House of Heroes, and Journey’s Backyard BBQ.

BLUE OCTOBER SCORES HIGHEST CHART POSITION IN BAND’S HISTORY WITH ANY MAN IN AMERICA

DEBUTS AT #8 ON BILLBOARD 200 AND#2 ON INDEPENDENT CHART 

 HEADLINE TOUR RESUMES SEPTEMBER 8TH

Multi-platinum rock band Blue October has landed their highest Billboard chart debut of their career with their latest album, Any Man In America.  The album, which was released on lead singer Justin Furstenfeld’s own UP/DOWN Records, debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200, was the second-highest debut on the chart this week and also landed at #2 on the Independent Album Chart, selling over 26,000 copies.

Furstenfeld had this to say about the band’s achievement: “I am in awe and beside myself with a big sigh and the most amazing crows flying in my stomach. The fact that when I started UP/DOWN Records, it was to prove that the listener can still be touched by artists with something to say, artists who are not afraid to stand up and remind listeners that they can still feel music like a first kiss. Making music that is real is what both Blue October and UP/DOWN records is all about.  I can’t thank everyone enough who has supported us and helped us achieve this milestone for the band.”

Any Man In America is the follow up to 2009’s Approaching Normal and is Blue October‘s sixth studio album overall. The album was produced by Furstenfeld (who also produced the band’s platinum breakthrough album Foiled), in association with Tim Palmer, who has produced and mixed for the likes of Robert Plant, Pearl Jam and U2.  Any Man In America takes the listener on a cathartic journey chronicling the deeply personal events that have unfolded in Justin Furstenfeld’s life since the band’s last release. USA Today states “this one’s a doozy…It’ll tear your heart out,” giving it a 3-star (out of 4) rating. 

Any Man In America‘s debut single, “The Chills,” is currently making its way up the charts landing in the Top 40 at Alternative radio this week.  A video for the song was just released and you can check it out here. Blue October also recently released the touching video for “The Feel Again (Stay)”.  Directed by Merritt Fields, “The Feel Again (Stay)” is one of Blue October‘s most truthful and haunting videos to date, and has already reached over 200,000 views since being released. After a few dates in their home state of Texas last week, Blue October will resume their Any Man In America tour on September 8th in Phoenix. The tour stops in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and Las Vegas before wrapping on October 21st in New Orleans, LA. The Dallas Morning News recently raved “Wednesday’s performance showed a band that has not only arrived, but has set up a smooth-running and rewarding shop.” Justin and Blue October will be bringing representatives from the American Coalition of Fathers and Children on the road with them to educate fans about Family Breakdown, Divorce and Emotional Child Support.
