LACUNA COIL Begin Recording New Album With Producer Jay Baumgardner

Band To Tour Europe With PARADISE LOST in Fall;
Set Sail On SHIPROCKED In January 2014

LACUNA COIL have officially begun work on their upcoming new studio album, the highly-anticipated follow-up to ‘Dark Adrenaline,’ which was released in January 2012 and saw the band tour North America not only as headliners, but also on support runs with MEGADETH, MOTORHEAD and VOLBEAT, then SEVENDUST and COAL CHAMBER.

Joining LACUNA COIL in Italy to record the album is acclaimed producer Jay Baumgardner, whose credits include P.O.D., SEVENDUST, EVANESCENCE, PAPA ROACH, OTHERWISE and more.

Says frontwoman Cristina Scabbia of the new album: “I am so excited to work on new stuff… I am sure a lot of people will be mesmerized by the cinematic vibe of the new album that’s underway. I’m very happy to have the chance to work with Jay. Not only is he a pro in what he does, but I am just loving the fact we are going to experiment with new sounds and are getting a different point of view about our art. We’re swamped with the music already… LACUNA COIL is back baby!!!”

Adds frontman Andrea Ferro: “We met Jay a few years ago in L.A. and had a really positive feeling about him, as he has produced and mixed some of my favourite records and some very relevant rock/metal albums. We have decided to work with him, because he has the ability to work together with the band towards a common vision without driving the band away from their sound.  In the studio there is the right energy that allows common people to achieve uncommon results!”

The band plans on completing the recording process before embarking on the upcoming “Tragic Illusion Tour” in Europe, which will celebrate Paradise Lost’s 25th anniversary as a band. The tour kicks off October 30 in Wolverhampton, UK, and concludes November 13 in Solothurn, Switzerland.

From January 26-30, 2014, LACUNA COIL will set sail on the SHIPROCKED cruise out of Miami, FL, to Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. They will join a lineup that includes FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, PAPA ROACH, THREE DAYS GRACE, DEVICE, SEVENDUST, Century Media label mates IN THIS MOMENT, BUTCHER BABIES and many more.

GIRL ON FIRE Release ‘NOT BROKEN’ – Debut Album Out Now!

Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, Featured, New Music, News, Previews, Releases, Reviews, Shows with tags , on September 13, 2013 by Randy

Seattle rockers GIRL ON FIRE released their debut album ‘NOT BROKEN’ yesterday, and fans and critics alike are already praising the album as one of the year’s finest debuts.

Taking Story Of The Year’s anthemic punch, Trust Company’s vocal melodies, later Eighteen Visions’ swagger, and a bunch of early Linkin Park sneer, this is big shiny rock purposely built for the radio… they are damn effective at what they do.” –Outburn

This album is everything you could want in a rock album and more… The album’s debut single ‘The Takedown’ could stand high atop the pedestal with the likes of many of the active rock hits from the past decade.” –New Transcendence (10/10)

“‘The Takedown’ comes at you with everything it’s got. These guys can rock, and they’re not shy about letting you know it.” –Amps And Green Screens (8.5/10)

The first single from ‘NOT BROKEN’ is “The Takedown” and is currently rising the charts at SiriusXM OCTANE and terrestrial radio, to watch the music video click here. GIRL ON FIRE also recently released behind-the-scenes video reports offering a look at the album’s recording process – click to watch the reports on drumsguitar and bass. You can also watch a five-track album sampler and lyric video here.

Currently on the road with BUCKCHERRY, GIRL ON FIRE will wrap their summer tour with a performance at MONSTER ENERGY AFTERSHOCK in Sacramento, CA, September 14, where they will join CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS labelmates BUCKCHERRY, IN THIS MOMENT, OTHERWISE and the BUTCHER BABIES on a two-day festival lineup that also includes KORN, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, SHINEDOWN, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, VOLBEAT and a host of others. The band will then return home for two dates with HALESTORM September 20-22, with a new fall tour to be announced shortly.

Produced and mixed by Jay Baumgardner [PAPA ROACH, EVANESCENCE, SEVENDUST] and mastered by Howie Weinberg [NIRVANA, AEROSMITH, THE WHITE STRIPES], ‘NOT BROKEN’ is a combustible combination of crisp riffs and body-shaking rhythms, a guitar-driven thrill ride primed to take radio by storm and leave the world rocking in its wake.

LAMB OF GOD Responds to Malaysia Concert Ban

Posted in All Metal, News, Shows with tags on September 13, 2013 by Randy

As widely reported, LAMB OF GOD’s concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia scheduled for September 28th has been cancelled by the government, who refused to issue a permit for the show even though the concert had been on sale and had sold over 1,500 tickets.

LAMB OF GOD’s guitarist Mark Morton has issued the following statement regarding the decision by the Malaysian government. Shows scheduled in New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand will still be performed by the group:

“It is very evident (and a bit frustrating) that the groups, parties and powers that have taken the most offense to our music and lyrics, have themselves only made a passing glance at the content and meanings of those songs. We would invite anyone offended by our music to engage in a discussion regarding the true motivations behind our work, especially before publicly slandering us based on assumptions and shallow misinterpretation.

We sincerely apologize to our amazing fans in Malaysia for the cancellation. Many thanks to all who have spoken out in support of us through this.”
