NEIL YOUNG TO RELEASE LIVE AT THE CELLAR DOOR ON DECEMBER 10TH ON REPRISE RECORDS

LIVE ALBUM COLLECTS PERFORMANCES FROM YOUNG’S SIX-SHOW STAND AT THE INTIMATE WASHINGTON D.C., VENUE IN 1970

Neil Young will release Live At The Cellar Door, the latest in his Archives Performance Series, on December 10th on Reprise Records. The album collects recordings made during Young’s intimate six-show solo stand at The Cellar Door in Washington D.C. between November 30th and December 2nd, 1970, a few months after Reprise released his classic third solo album After The Gold Rush in August. Of the many unique gems found on Live At The Cellar Door, a rare solo version of “Cinnamon Girl” performed on piano rather than guitar is a particular treasure for Neil fans (the full band version appears on Young’s 1969 second solo albumEverybody Knows This Is Nowhere).

The album, which features Young performing on acoustic guitar and piano, includes tracks that are interesting for several reasons, such as stunning live versions of songs that appeared on After The Gold Rush (“Tell Me Why,” “Only Love Can Break Your Heart,” “Birds,” “Don’t Let It Bring You Down” and the title track) and solo performances of the Buffalo Springfield songs “Expecting To Fly”(from their 1967 second album Buffalo Springfield Again), “I Am A Child” (from their third and final album Last Time Around and Young’s 1977 Decade compilation), and “Flying On The Ground Is Wrong,” from their 1966 self-titled debut.

In addition, Live At The Cellar Door features early, raw performances of songs that wouldn’t appear until subsequent Young albums, including the rarity “Bad Fog Of Loneliness” (which appears onLive At Massey Hall ’71 – released in 2007– but was previously unreleased until the studio band version was included on Archives Vol. 1 1963-1972) and “Old Man” (released two years later on 1972’s Harvest album). “Down By The River,” also from Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, rounds out the spectacular set.

Live At The Cellar Door was recorded by Henry Lewy and produced by Young.

As with Young’s previous releases in the Archives series, Live At The Cellar Door will be released digitally, on CD, and on 180-gram vinyl (mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and pressed at Pallas in Germany).

The track-listing for Live At The Cellar Door is as follows:

Side One:

Tell Me Why

Only Love Can Break Your Heart

After The Gold Rush

Expecting To Fly

Bad Fog Of Loneliness

Old Man

Birds

Side Two:

Don’t Let It Bring You Down

See The Sky About To Rain

I Am A Child

Down By The River

Flying On The Ground Is Wrong

Band To Set Sail On SHIPROCKED In January 2014

“I am so proud and excited for the world to hear ‘Whore’,” says IN THIS MOMENT frontwoman Maria Brink of her band’s latest single. “The message behind this song is taking back control. It is about taking the power from a disgusting and degrading word and turning it back around on the accuser. It’s about self-empowerment, love and liberation. This is an honest and raw movement that needs to be heard.”

“Whore” is skyrocketing at radio, where the track jumped from 32 to 28 on the Active Rock charts this week – and now fans can experience the song with a visual as provocative as the song itself. IN THIS MOMENT has partnered with Revolver Magazine to premiere the official lyric video for “Whore,” which can be viewed exclusively at RevolverMag.com:

http://www.revolvermag.com/news/exclusive-in-this-moment-premiere-lyric-video-for-new-single-whore.html

“Whore” is the third single from IN THIS MOMENT’s Century Media Records release ‘Blood’. The album was released in August 2012 and marked the highest debut of the band’s career, entering the Billboard Top 200 at No. 15 and selling more than 20,000 units first week. The record has emerged as one of the best selling rock albums of the past year, with sales of more than 190,000, and counting.

But “Whore” is more than just a great song – it is a vehicle for the band to convey the true intent behind their use of the word, with Maria Brink creating the term ‘WomenHonoring One another Rising Eternally’, stripping the negative connotation of the word and replacing it with an empowering spirit.

The imagery the band has created around “Whore” is just as provocative: “I decided to pose nude for the visual art for ‘Whore’ to evoke a raw vulnerable emotion. The word WHORE written down my back and the dunce cap symbolize me placing myself on the stake for those who are suffering, and I can only hope to encourage at least one person to find the self worth and love they deserve to transcend out of a painful situation into a beautiful one. It is about finding our power and taking a stand.  We are resilient beings and need to realize our incredible strengths. I will not bow down to others perceptions of me. I will only rise in the name of art, love and music.”

Guitarist Chris Howorth adds: “One of the best things about the song ‘Whore’ is all the feelings and thoughts that the word alone provokes. That’s great, but at the end of the day it’s just a word, the only power it really has is the power that we give it. It’s really just about taking the power back from the word, and when you get past all the controversy of the word you have a bombastic rock and roll song with crushing guitars and huge drums that will have you screaming ‘whore!’ at the top of your lungs – listen with your heart!”
