YOUNG FOX RELEASES ‘PREDECESSORS’ EP TODAY!

Posted in Artist Watch, New Music, News, Releases with tags , , , , , , , , , on August 6, 2014 by Randy

Pittsburgh’s rising rock band Young Fox has released their new EP, Predecessors, today via Spartan Records. The release is currently available digitally at iTunes and from Spartan Records at http://spr.tn/youngfox.

Formed in 2012, Young Fox came together over drinks in a neighborhood pub in Pittsburgh. Martin Lunn (bassist), who’s also in revered metal band Zao, Luke Cypher (vocals/guitar/keys), who happens to share his time as the head chef at Piccolo Forno in Pittsburgh, and Chris Lehberger (drums) began writing, rehearsing and recording and eventually added Brian Schultz (guitar) to the mix, rounding out the four-piece band.
The group was fixated on honing their craft and songwriting on the new record, Predecessors, until they were completely satisfied. The results are shockingly good too.
Young Fox’s music is dynamic and heartfelt. From the record’s memorable first track “Single Phase” to the last notes of “Define The End,” Young Fox leaves it all on record. Tracks like “The Answer” and “Diet of Worms” are intense and methodical and showcase extraordinary talents from a new band that will be around for years to come.

SONIC SYNDICATE Releases Official ‘Before You Finally Break’ Music Video feat. SOILWORK’s Björn ‘Speed’ Strid!

Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, Featured, New Music, News, Previews, Releases, Videos with tags , , , , , , , on June 11, 2014 by Randy

Anglo-Swedish modern metal powerhouse SONIC SYNDICATE have released the official music video for the second single, ‘Before You Finally Break’, off the band’s upcoming self-titled, fifth album.

The clip was shot by renowned director Patric Ullaeus (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, CHILDREN OF BODOM, uvm) and features SOILWORK singer Björn ‘Speed’ Strid on guest vocals. Check it out at http://smarturl.it/SoSyBYFB

Commented singer Nathan James Biggs„I’m honored to call Speed a friend. I’ve been a big SOILWORK fan for years. Those guys were a massive hand in crafting that trademark Swedish sound so it made perfect sense to ask Speed when we knew we wanted to do a song with guest vocals. Performance wise I think we have similar styles and execution, but at the same time we both have our own thing going on so the voices compliment each other to great effect. My idea was also to have a real battle between our vocals. I hate it when you have these “featuring” songs and the guest just pops up for a chorus and then does backing vocals for a while in the verse or something. This is a real fight between us for the mic and I’m sure people are gonna appreciate that.“

Bjorn “Speed” Strid adds:

“Working with Sonic Syndicate is always a pleasure, whether it’s in the studio, tour, or in a cool looking abandoned car shop in the industrial area of Gothenburg. I loved recording vocals on this song and especially being able to do somewhat of a duet with Nathan Biggs. He’s a truly talented singer and a good friend. Doing the video was easy, fun and pretty intense at the same time. It turned out real sick.. Check it out!”

The first single off the album, ‘Black Hole Halo’, can be viewed at http://youtu.be/7RxHJeKNXSQ

The album will be self-titled and is set to be released July 8, 2014 via Nuclear Blast.

Commented guitarist, main songwriter and founding member, Robin Sjunnesson“We decided to go with this one as a “Self-Titled” release. Mainly because as an album we have put everything we’ve got into it. All of our experience as musicians, the evolution of the music, the sound from all eras of the band, and also the road we have taken as people. This is us, this is Sonic Syndicate in all its beauty and destruction. It shows our strength, our love for melody, our scars, our energy. The cover art is a definite representation of that. In the background, a battle-torn city laid to waste, four figures emerging together with only each other to depend on in an environment so harsh, only those with a tough heart, body and soul can survive. The tone throughout this album is definitely darker, and as my Swedish family would say “With a red-line running in the middle” so we put this into the colour-scheme. We could not be more proud of this album, and we thank our fans for the support, it’s because of them that we’re here. This album is for you.”

The album will include a total of 11 tracks while the limited edition digipak will feature no less than 3 bonus tracks on top.

Sonic Syndicate tracklist:

01. Day Of The Dead

02. Black Hole Halo

03. Long Road Home

04. My Revenge

05. Before You Finally Break (feat. Speed/SOILWORK)

06. Catching Fire

07. Unbreakable

08. It Takes Me

10. So Addicted

11. The Flame That Changed The World

BONUS TRACKS:

13. What We Shared

14. Another Soldier Down

Sonic Syndicate marks the band’s first release in four years after taking a break after touring the world in support of 2010’s critically acclaimed We Rule The Night.

Commented the band: “It’s crazy, exciting, and mind-blowing to be back! The one thing we were looking forward to more than hitting the studio, was getting back on the road and seeing our fans, and now we have a killer new album to go out with! We can’t wait for you to hear the new material, and of course we’ll be ripping apart the stage with our favorite songs from all our albums! It is our personal mission to guarantee that these will be our most kick-ass, energetic and dynamic live shows yet. If you’ve seen SOSY live before then you’re gonna want to see the “Diabolical Tour of Art” as its gonna be bigger, better and more bad-ass. If you’ve never seen SOSY live before then now is the perfect time to join the party, and get to one of the cities we’re playing. Damn, this is gonna be good!”
