Deep in the heart of Hell Paso Texas, MINISTRY’s Al Jourgensen re-opened the doors of his industrial compound studio in Fall 2011 and invited his favorite co-conspirators Mike Scaccia (Rigor Mortis), Tony Campos (Static X), Tommy Victor (Prong) and Casey Orr (Rigor Mortis/Gwar) to climb on board the Ministry pirate ship and de-construct and re-construct Jourgensen’s monsterpiece Relapse.
Thirty years and 12 albums later, as well as a near-death experience in 2010, Jourgensen rises as a phoenix from the ashes with Relapse –– still angry, still political and very very pissed off. Relapsing back into the music industry after a four-year hiatus, Jourgensen launches his audio assault with “Ghouldiggers,” a no-holds-barred metal bullet aimed directly at the pitfalls of the industry he has survived.  Everything Jourgensen predicted on Houses of the Molé, Rio Grande Blood and The Last Sucker has transpired and as we approach the Mayan calendar of the End of Days in 2012, Jourgensen, re-invigorated by the global 99 Percenters and Occupy Wall Street movement, navigates through Relapse once again as a reluctant prophet accusing, dissecting, cajoling and exhorting greed, corruption and lies.

Reaching back to his punk rock roots, Jourgensen and his MINISTRY pirates cover S.O.D’s “United Forces” – a track written 20 years ago still relevant today as a call to arms for the unrighteous and to those who feel disenfranchised by the “system” as it stands today.

Sited as the driving force behind a cross-section of metal genres from industrial Nine Inch Nails to thrash artists Static X and Nu Metal’s Korn, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Limp Biskit, and receiving six Grammy Nominations for Best Metal Performance, Jourgensen returns with his greatest achievement to date with Relapse.

Leave it to Jourgensen to make a comeback with a relapse.

DIMESLAND: Abstract Metal Act To Release Debut EP

Posted in All Metal, New Music, News with tags , , , , , , on January 23, 2012 by Randy

Vendlus Records has confirmed the upcoming debut from Oakland, California-based abstract/hyper metal act, DIMESLAND. The eclectic act has a strong interest in tension, mutation and fracture, in evidence not only harmonically and rhythmically but also within blurred tales of psychological havoc. Featuring members of The Residents and Wild Hunt, DIMESLAND was formed in 2006 by guitarists Nolan Cook and Drew Cook, and after several incarnations the lineup was solidified with the addition of drummer Harland Burkhart and bassist/vocalist Greg Brace.

The band’s live shows are frantic and dense and feature songs woven together with shorter pieces and soundscapes for an almost nonstop presentation of sound.DIMESLAND‘s debut EP, Creepmoon, will see release via Vendlus Records on February 14, 2012.

This weekend DIMESLAND are scheduled to perform at a hometown kickoff show for the release of Creepmoon, playing alongside key Bay Area acts Hammers Of Misfortune and Giant Squid.

DIMESLAND release show:

1/21/2012 The Uptown – Oakland, CA w/ Hammers Of Misfortune, Giant Squid

Creepmoon EP track listing:

1. Trophy Wives Under the Influence

2. Architect

3. Revlev

4. Degradation Suite

5. Ghastly Maneuvering

Legacy Recordings is proud to announce the stateside release of HELL IN A HANDBASKET, the new full-length studio album from MEAT LOAF, the iconic frontman whose 1977 breakout album, Bat Out Of Hell, defined the arena rock genre and remains as one of the world’s five top-selling albums of all-time, with more than 43 million copies sold to date.

Meat Loaf’s new album, Hell In A Handbasket, will be available everywhere on Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

Performing with Meat Loaf on Hell In A Handbasket is The Neverland Express, his long-time backing ensemble, featuring John Miceli (drums, percussion), Patti Russo (lead and backing vocals), Paul Crook (electric and acoustic guitars), Randy Flowers (electric and acoustic guitars, vocals), David Luther (saxophone, vocals), Justin Avery (piano, organ, keyboard, vocals) and Danny Miranda (electric and upright bass).

The new Meat Loaf tracks on Hell In A Handbasket include “All of Me,” “The Giving Tree,” “Live or Die,” “Blue Sky/Mad Mad World/The Good God is a Woman and She Don’t Like Ugly” (special appearance by Chuck D), “California Dreamin’” (duet with Patti Russo), “Party of One,” “Another Day,” “40 Days,” “Our Love and Our Souls”  (duet with Patti Russo), “Stand in the Storm” (special guest appearances from Trace Adkins, Lil Jon and Mark McGrath), “Blue Sky” and “Fall From Grace.”

“Hell In A Handbasket is the most personal record I’ve ever made,” said Meat Loaf.  “It’s really the first record I’ve ever put out about how I feel about life and how I feel about what’s going on at the moment.”  The album, produced by Paul Crook, is an expression of life’s metaphors, driven by excellent musicianship, and of course, the passionate vocals of Meat Loaf.  “Making this album was a great experience,” said Meat Loaf, “and I hope my fans enjoy hearing it as much as I did making it.”
