ARCH ENEMY launches part 2 of track-by-track video

Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, New Music, Previews, Shows, Videos with tags , , , , on June 11, 2014 by Randy

ARCH ENEMY’s highly anticipated album, War Eternal, will be unleashed next week on June 10 in North America! For a preview of War Eternal, check out part 2 of the track-by-track video with Michael Amott (guitar) and Alissa White-Gluz (vocals): http://youtu.be/uENx0NWfvQY
Part 1 can be viewed here: http://youtu.be/8pCpYDxwR5c

ARCH ENEMY is currently on the road in Europe, having already completed 10 shows with new front-woman, Alissa White-Gluz. At one of the first shows, Alissa broke her riser into pieces and consequently broke a rib in the fall. She explained in an online posting: “Anyone at that show who saw me body slam through the fucking riser could imagine there would be some damage. But I’m a stubborn fuck and I waited a few shows before going to get x-rays, ultrasounds and blood tests. The damage to my head, arms and legs is just bad bruising, there is no apparent organ damage and no internal bleeding. Unfortunately, there is a compound break on one rib and severe bruising around several others. Good news is that the pieces of the rib are well aligned to heal back in place!” She added: “The doctor forbade me to continue playing shows… But cancelling shows would hurt way worse.”

SONIC SYNDICATE Posts Third In-Studio Trailer – New Album Out July 8, 2014 via Nuclear Blast

Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, New Music, News, Previews, Releases, Videos with tags , , , , , , on June 11, 2014 by Randy

Anglo-Swedish modern metal powerhouse SONIC SYNDICATE have posted the third in-studio video trailer for the band’s upcoming self-titled, fifth album. Check it out at this location:  http://youtu.be/oahYekbZD-g

Commented the band: “It’s crazy, exciting, and mind-blowing to be back! The one thing we were looking forward to more than hitting the studio, was getting back on the road and seeing our fans, and now we have a killer new album to go out with! We can’t wait for you to hear the new material, and of course we’ll be ripping apart the stage with our favorite songs from all our albums! It is our personal mission to guarantee that these will be our most kick-ass, energetic and dynamic live shows yet. If you’ve seen SOSY live before then you’re gonna want to see the “Diabolical Tour of Art” as its gonna be bigger, better and more bad-ass. If you’ve never seen SOSY live before then now is the perfect time to join the party, and get to one of the cities we’re playing. Damn, this is gonna be good!”

The first single off the album, ‘Black Hole Halo’, can be viewed at http://youtu.be/7RxHJeKNXSQ

Also check out the studio trailer for more info:
Part #1 can be viewed here: http://youtu.be/MgWlvLrUjOc
Part #2 is available here: http://youtu.be/fAqC_WEYrcI

The album will be self-titled and is set to be released July 8, 2014 via Nuclear Blast.

Pre-order the album here: http://shop.nuclearblast.com/en/shop/item/groups/51000.1.html?article_group_sort_type_handle=rank&custom_keywords=sonic%20syndicate

Commented guitarist, main songwriter and founding member, Robin Sjunnesson“We decided to go with this one as a “Self-Titled” release. Mainly because as an album we have put everything we’ve got into it. All of our experience as musicians, the evolution of the music, the sound from all eras of the band, and also the road we have taken as people. This is us, this is Sonic Syndicate in all its beauty and destruction. It shows our strength, our love for melody, our scars, our energy. The cover art is a definite representation of that. In the background, a battle-torn city laid to waste, four figures emerging together with only each other to depend on in an environment so harsh, only those with a tough heart, body and soul can survive. The tone throughout this album is definitely darker, and as my Swedish family would say “With a red-line running in the middle” so we put this into the colour-scheme. We could not be more proud of this album, and we thank our fans for the support, it’s because of them that we’re here. This album is for you.”

Sonic Syndicate will also feature a guest appearance by SOILWORK‘s gifted vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid on the track ‘Before You Finally Break’.

Commented singer Nathan James Biggs“I’m honored to call Speed a friend. I’ve been a big SOILWORK fan for years. Those guys were a massive hand in crafting that trademark Swedish sound so it made perfect sense to ask Speed when we knew we wanted to do a song with guest vocals. Performance wise I think we have similar styles and execution, but at the same time we both have our own thing going on so the voices compliment each other to great effect. My idea was also to have a real battle between our vocals. I hate it when you have these “featuring” songs and the guest just pops up for a chorus and then does backing vocals for a while in the verse or something. This is a real fight between us for the mic and I’m sure people are gonna appreciate that.”

The album will include a total of 11 tracks while the limited edition digipak will feature no less than 3 bonus tracks on top.

Sonic Syndicate tracklist:

01. Day Of The Dead

02. Black Hole Halo

03. Long Road Home

04. My Revenge

05. Before You Finally Break (feat. Speed/SOILWORK)

06. Catching Fire

07. Unbreakable
08. It Takes Me

09. See What I See

10. So Addicted

11. The Flame That Changed The World

Posted in Artist Watch, New Music, News, Previews, Releases with tags , , , , , on May 29, 2014 by Randy

FLYLEAF, the five-piece, multi-platinum alternative band from Texas, has officially signed with Loud & Proud Records.

“We are inspired by Flyleaf’s new music and equally inspired by the band members’ character and conviction,” says Tom Lipsky, Owner and President of Loud & Proud Records.  “We have confidence in their future and are excited that they have placed their trust in Loud & Proud to be their global label partner.”

“Flyleaf is privileged and thankful to be joining forces with Loud & Proud,” explains guitarist SAMEER BHATACHARYA. “There is something very special in this new Flyleaf album that resonates in our hearts. We’re excited for the new release and our upcoming tours starting this fall.”

“Flyleaf has been blessed to have crossed paths with Loud & Proud,” adds bassist PAT SEALS. “We are thrilled to be releasing our new record with such a progressive label that seeks to serve the music.”

“I’m so happy to be partners with Loud and Proud, this will be a good team for us,” adds vocalist KRISTEN MAYLoud and Proud gives us the freedom creatively to grow and stay true to who we are while having the support of an inspired team, we can’t wait for the journey ahead.”

FLYLEAF has consistently dominated the Active, Alternative and Mainstream rock charts throughout their career. They released the eponymous debut album, Flyleaf, in 2005 which went platinum and spawned the singles “I’m So Sick,” “Fully Alive,” and the smash “All Around Me,” which sold over one million digital downloads, was a Top 20 hit at Top 40 radio and won the BMI Pop Award. Their second album Memento Mori was released in late 2009 and debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard charts, featuring the singles “Again” and “Missing.”  Their third album New Horizons was released in late 2012 and marked the addition of lead vocalist KRISTEN MAY and the departure of Lacey Sturm. After months of touring the world with the new line-up, FLYLEAF released a new EP Who We Are in 2013 which featured the song “Something Better” with P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval on vocals. They’ve shared the stage with Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, Evanescence and many more. Conscious of constantly giving back, they played special shows for American troops stationed in Afghanistan as well as Okinawa, Japan.
