THE CRYSTAL METHOD have kicked off 2014 by offering an advance listen of their fifth studio album, titled The Crystal Method, via Hype Machine. Marking the iconic act’s 20th Anniversary, the album is set for releaseJanuary 14 and is available to hear now at Pandora or at HypeM.

On The Crystal Method, THE CRYSTAL METHOD’s KEN JORDAN and SCOTT KIRKLAND explore various directions of electronic music.  “While there’s plenty of hissing beats, belching production, squealing-breaks (and) keyboards for modern EDM heads to enjoy,” wrote Annie Zaleski of Alternative Press (Feb) in her review, “…the album is steeped in meticulous club music emphasizing silky grooves and sculptured adrenaline rushes.” Guests include LeAnn Rimes, Franky Perez (Scars On Broadway), Nick Thayer and mau5trap artist Le Castle Vania. “The Voice”’s season #2 contestant Dia Frampton (also known  as one half of indie duo Meg & Dia) is the featured vocalist on the album’s first single “Over It” impacting radio this month.

Look for THE CRYSTAL METHOD to appear on Los Angeles tastemaker radio program KCRW “Morning Becomes Eclectic” on Tuesday, January 14. Meanwhile, the pair are gearing up for a major performance at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles with a full live band (a first for the platinum-selling EDM duo) on January 16.

Also this month, they have DJ dates lined up in Denver January 18 and New York City January 23 alongside a live set on SIRIUS XM’s Electric Area Electric Aquarium.  A full tour for the spring will be announced soon.

JAMES LABRIE – To release “I Will Not Break” Digital-EP in January

Following up on the success of his latest studio album, “Impermanent Resonance”, Dream Theater’s James LaBrie is set to release a new Digital EP entitled “I Will Not Break” on January 14th, 2014 in North America via InsideOutMusic.The “I Will Not Break” EP will include 9 (!) tracks and a total playing time of 38 minutes for a special low-price with the following tracklisting:

While the opening title track is the album version taken from the “Impermanent Resonance” release, the songs 2 and 3 were previously only released physically as Digipak bonus tracks. Song 4 is an alternate mix version and songs 5 as well as 6 are special demo versions, all previously only released physically as bonustracks on the Digipak and the Japanese edition for the “Static Impulse” album in 2010. Songs 7, 8 and 9 are special dub step / electronica re-mixes of “Static Impulse” songs, previously unreleased (Song 7 was only available physically in Japan before). The re-mixes were done by US-based DJ’s Jason Miller, Mutrix and NeonGenesis. The cover artwork for the EP was once again designed by Gustavo Sazes / abstrata.net (Arch Enemy, Kamelot, etc.).

James LaBrie checked in to comment about the upcoming EP release as follows:

“Hey Everyone! Matt, Marco, Peter, Ray and yours truly are very pleased to release this digital EP. It will show some of the songs with alternate mixes as well as letting you hear Matt’s exceptional voice with some of the songs in their demo versions. We also had 3 of the songs mixed in dub step stylings to give them a somewhat interesting flavour and twist. Hope you all enjoy this release, I personally think it is very cool. Most recently, the James LaBrie track “Lost In The Fire” was used by the Swedish sound library company Toontrack Music to promote the launch of one of their new products. Upon release, “Impermanent Resonance” managed to enter the the Billboard Heatseeker Charts at #5 and #156 on the Billboard 200 Charts!  In Europe the album saw succes on the sales charts in Germany at position # 48 and The Netherlands at position # 67 as well as UK’s Rock Album Chart at position # 22.

On December 21, 2012, the metal community came together in an amazing way to celebrate the life of Mitch Lucker & raise money for his daughter’s future education with an unforgettable evening of collaborative performances between past/present Suicide Silence members and elite heavy vocalists that created a defining emotional event forever captured on video and audio.

Suicide Silence – Ending Is The Beginning: The Mitch Lucker Memorial Show will be released on February 18, 2014 in North American and March 17th 2014 In Europe as a CD/DVD digipack & CD/Blu-ray combo pack.
