Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. Release New Song, “Don’t Tell Me” Sophomore LP, The Speed of Things, Out October 8th

Posted in Artist Watch, Featured, New Music, Previews, Releases, Reviews, Shows, Uncategorized with tags , , on September 25, 2013 by Randy
Just two weeks out from the release of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.‘s sophomore LP, The Speed of Things (music available upon request!), the guys have dropped a brand new song, “Don’t Tell Me.” DEJJ’s Josh Epstein and Daniel Zott explain: “Before we even knew we were going to make a second album we began playing this song live almost two years ago and have been dodging questions after shows about when it was going to be made available ever since.” The track premiered with Conan O’Brien’s Team Coco yesterday.

Paste recently championed DEJJ’s lead single, “If You Didn’t See Me, Then You Weren’t On The Dancefloor)” as one of the “Best Songs of Summer” alongside the likes of Daft Punk, Justin Timberlake, Vampire Weekend, and more. Teen Vogue just called out the album as one of“The Most Exciting Albums Coming Out This Fall” raving “Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. makes straightforward, infectious indie-pop that you’ll listen to again and again.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. have linked up with labelmates Atlas Genius for the “Ones To Watch Tour” this fall, which just launched this week. It includes two nights in NYC on October 10th and 11th at Irving Plaza, The Wiltern in LA November 6th and The Fillmore in SF November 7th. A full list of dates is below. If you’re interested in guest list, holler at us.

The Speed Of Things is the follow-up to 2011’s acclaimed debut, It’s A Corporate World. Blazing The Speed Of Things trail is addicting lead single “If You Didn’t See Me (Then You Weren’t On The Dancefloor),” which has an amazingly entertaining official video, that Funny Or Die premiered. The band performed the song on Conan last month along with “War Zone”as a web exclusive. “Dancefloor” is off to a great start at radio, with early support coming from KCRW, KROQ and Sirius Alt Nation. The guys recently stopped by Entertainment Tonight, who named DEJJ an “Artist To Watch,” to play “Dancefloor” acoustic and Buzzfeed, to drop some knowledge as to Why Detroit Is Actually Awesome.

Russia’s LOUNA Releases New Lyric Video for Hard-Hitting Track “Fight Club” with Noisecreep.com Today

Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, Featured, New Music, News, Photos, Previews, Releases, Reviews, Shows, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on September 25, 2013 by Randy

On Tour with THE PRETTY RECKLESS and HEAVEN’S BASEMENT – Beginning Tomorrow in Jacksonville, FL

Female-fronted Russian hard rockers LOUNA and Noisecreep.com are exclusively releasing a brand new lyric video for the band’s new track ‘Fight Club’, cut from their most recent full-length release, Behind a MaskNoisecreep also released a humorous and eye-opening Top 10 list of the reasons “Why You’re Probably Not Taking Louna Seriously”. Check it out!

The lyric video includes exclusive live performance footage of the band at Milk in Moscow, Russia, giving all they’ve got to a massive crowd of fans (this also happens to be the shoot location of the band’s Live Concert DVD Box Set and MTV’s upcoming documentary “Rebel Music”, which LOUNA is featured in). The lyric video was edited by Alex Yelagin of Headshot Video and directed by Travis Leake.

Front-woman Lou Gevorkian states, “‘Fight Club’ is our way of telling people that together we can change the system and make the government fear us, instead of the other way around.  You must BECOME the pain. It’s not enough to change the system if you want to build something new, you have to be strong enough to break something inside of yourself so that you can build something newer and better for the future.  Before you can build something new, you have to destroy the old.  This was the idea of the book Fight Club and it’s the same theme of this song.”

LOUNA recently announced their first ever U.S. tour with The Pretty Reckless and Heaven’s Basement, hitting the road tomorrow in Jacksonville, FL! The tour comes to a close in Washington, D.C. on November 3rd. Tickets are on sale now, so get them while you can experience LOUNA during their first visit to the U.S.! LOUNA is pleased to come to the states to show American fans that outside of all of the oppression and discrimination going on in Russia right now, there are good, real people that want to spread a message of peace and bring people together.

No other rock group from Russia has exploded onto the music scene quite as rapidly as LOUNA. Their first English language album, Behind A Mask, was released on April 30, 2013 via Red Decade Records and MEG/RED.  Frontwoman Lousine Gevorkian was named the best female rock vocalist in Russia in February of 2013 at the annual Nashe Awards, the closest award show in Russia to the Grammy’s or American Music Awards for rock musicians. She was nominated for the same award the year before.

LOUNA are the most commercially successful rock band of the modern protest movement (of which Pussy Riot has become the most internationally renowned). They donated their song “The Time of X” to the White Album project raising funds for Pussy Riot’s support and defense.  MTV USA came to Moscow in the Fall of 2012 and will feature LOUNA in an upcoming documentary about protest musicians around the world called “Rebel Music” airing in October on MTV.

After the release of their first EP, which lyrically focused on the many modern social problems that exist, they were quickly named the 2009 Best New Artist of the Year at the annual Russian Alternative Music Prize (RAMP) awards. They released their first album, “Let’s Get Louder” in December of 2010, selling out every venue during their first national tour of Russia supporting the album. Two singles, “Fight Club” and “Let’s Get Louder” reached #1 on the Russian radio charts, with “Fight Club” remaining in the top 10 for a record-breaking 16 weeks and also being named the 2011 Rock Song of the Year at the annual Nashe Awards. Along with this, LOUNA was nominated for Breakthrough Artist and Solo Performance of the year. “Mama,” their first single from their February 2012 album, “The Time of X”, went straight to #1 on the Russian radio charts.

LOUNA has performed on the main stage as a headliner at every major festival throughout Russia, and is almost universally considered the most in demand young rock band in all of the Russian world.  They have played in Russia with numerous international artists such as Limp Bizkit, Billy Talent, Paramore, The Killers, Bullet for My Valentine and many others.  In early 2012, they were invited to perform as one of the main headliners at the 50th-birthday concert festival honoring Russian rock legend Victor Tsoi of the band KINO, playing to audiences of over 15,000 people in both Moscow and St. Petersburg.
