THE SUNSET STRIP: AT SXSW AND YOU’RE INVITED!

You are invited to experience The Sunset Strip at SXSW!

The world’s most legendary music boulevard is packing up and heading east to Austin, Texas for five days of music, comedy and an interactive lounge during SXSW.

The West Hollywood Marketing & Visitors Bureau and the Sunset Strip Business Association have partnered to create a Sunset Strip lounge at the SXSW tradeshow March 14-17. Attendees are invited to stop by The Sunset Strip lounge at the Austin Convention Center (booths 523 & 525) and enjoy a photo gallery featuring some of the top performances on The Strip, Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) footage, meet with organizers of the SSMFcomedians from The Comedy Store and representatives from the West Hollywood Marketing & Visitors Bureau and The Roxy Theatre. Attendees can also enter the chance to win a VIP experience at this year’s SSMF, scheduled for August 18-20. (VIP packages will be given away each day during the tradeshow.)

Additionally, Sunset Strip venues The Roxy Theatre and The Comedy Store will host nights of entertainment at venues in Austin during the music festival. The Roxy will take over the Rusty Spurs venue (405 E 7th Street) for official SXSW “Austin Rox” parties on March 16 and 17, showcasing some of The Strip’s top talent. Lineups include:

Wednesday, March 16: Performances by Deep Dark Robot featuring Linda PerryJohnny Polygon and Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) alum The Tender BoxAwolnationVanaprasta and Pigeons featuring Cisco Adler. The Comedy Store will headline its presence at SXSW with a panel at the Interactive festival titled “Social Media and Comedy: F**k Yeah!” with comedy experts Kambri Crews (producer/publicist, Ballyhoo Promotions), Alf LaMont (VP of marketing, The Comedy Store), Jordan Ellner (director of Jokes.com, Atom.com), comedian Marc Maron and Sean McCarthy (editor/publisher, The Comic’s Comic). The discussion takes place Sunday, March 13 at 3:30 p.m. at the Hyatt, Texas Ballroom 1 (208 Barton Springs Road). As part of the journey to SXSW, The Comedy Store is bringing four up-and-coming comedians who will be performing at the legendary Cap City Comedy Club in Austin (www.capcitycomedy.com). Unwritten Law Announces New Tour Dates Tour with Authority Zero To Begin In April New album Swan In Stores And Online 3/29

Southern California rock band Unwritten Law has announced dates for their upcoming headlining tour with Authority Zero. Unwritten Law will be touring in support of their new studio album Swan, which is scheduled for release on March 29th, 2011 through BreakSilence Recordings/Suburban Noize Records.

“We are really stoked to going out on tour in April. It’s been a while since we have done a full tour so it will awesome to get out play for all our fans again,” commented

Unwritten Law guitarist Steve Morris. “For this tour we’re bringing along our friends in Authority Zero, so it’s bound to an epic tour. See everyone soon out on the road!

We’ve been out on the road in support of our latest release Stories Of Survival since August of 2010 and things continue to get better for us with this upcoming Unwritten Lawtour,” commented Jason DeVore from Authority Zero.”We’ve developed a great relationship with the guys in Unwritten Law over the years and it will be great to get back out there with them and tear up the States again.
