BEARTOOTH DEBUT ALBUM DISGUSTING OUT TODAY VIA RED BULL RECORDS

Posted in Artist Watch, Featured, New Music, News, Releases, Shows with tags , , , , , , on June 11, 2014 by Randy

Columbus, OH hardcore outfit Beartooth has released their debut full length album Disgusting today via Red Bull Records. Watch the video for new song “Beaten In Lips” here, watch an exclusive behind the scenes clip and stream the album here and buy the album here.

Written, performed, produced and mixed by 21 year-old Caleb Shomo, Disgusting shares equal inspiration with brutal metalcore as with old-school punk like The Ramones and the bombastic theatricality of Queen. The end result is a back-to-basics hardcore stomp interspersed with anthemic choruses that prompted Alternative Press to name Beartooth one of their ‘Bands You Need to Know in 2014’ and feature Caleb on their July issue cover.

More early praise for Disgusting:

“A breathless, bile-filled audio belch. Screams are instinctive, not stylized. Lyrics are like bloodstained diary entries…Equally emotional and exhilarating, Disgusting is a contender fordebut album of the year.”
Rock Sound
“A band to watch” – Revolver
Disgusting is a roller coaster ride of truth, rebellion and raw emotion guaranteed to seize the attention of skeptics and eager fans alike. 9/10.” – Outburn
“Trust us when we say they will be one of your favourite bands by the end of 2014.” – Big Cheese
“Set to be one of the year’s biggest new bands.” – Metal Hammer
“An absolutely exhilarating listen. 4 ½ stars” – Alternative Press
“The world’s best new band.” – Kerrang
“An onslaught of great riffs and catchy choruses…Shomo has done a fantastic job. 4 ½ stars.” HM

Beartooth began as a way for Caleb to blow off steam after leaving his role as front man for Attack Attack! Caleb and his hometown friends started jamming; hanging out in his basement studio and playing music for fun. They released an EP, Sick, and then hit the road, touring North America with August Burns Red, Memphis May Fire and others. In between support slots the five-piece headlined everywhere from basements to club shows, building a strong and devoted following. The EP’s accompanying music videos quickly accumulated almost 2 million views and set the stage for Disgusting.

Fresh from a UK & European tour with Of Mice & Men, Beartooth will be heading out on the entire length of this year’s Vans Warped Tour, which kicks off June 13th in Houston, TX.  Full tour dates are below.

After the resounding underground success of their debut full-length release Monument, MISS MAY I took a step beyond the metalcore world they had grown up in with the release of their album At Heart in 2012. The record, produced by renowned record producer Machine (Lamb Of God), proved to be one of the strongest and most surprising metal records of the last few years, spawning huge singles in the songs ‘Hey Mister’ and ‘Day By Day’. Entering the Billboard Top 200 charts in its first week at #32, At Heart saw the band embrace a more mainstream metal approach to their music. During their 2012 Vans Warped Tour main stage onslaught, the At Heart campaign made massive leaps, seeing MISS MAY I nominated for ‘Best New Talent’ award at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, as well as headlining the Alternative Press 2012 Tour, and picking up support at Active Rock Radio for the first time. On the live side, the band was hand-picked for tours with the likes of Five Finger Death PunchKillswitch Engage and Bullet For My Valentine.

Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, Featured, News, Shows with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 11, 2014 by Randy

KILL DEVIL HILL are proud to announce the addition of TYPE O NEGATIVE drummer Johnny Kelly to the band. Kelly, who also plays with DANZIG and his own band A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH, replaces the recently departed Vinny Appice.

“I’m really excited about coming on board with Kill Devil Hill,” says Kelly. “I’ve been a fan since their debut and have known the guys for a long-time. It’s also clear that I have some really big shoes to fill. I’m ready for that challenge as I prepare for KDH’s next chapter – this is gonna be a blast!”

The band will play their first shows with Kelly behind the kit April 4-6 [see dates below], three warm-up shows before embarking on an Australian run with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. More expansive North American dates will be announced shortly.

Adds KILL DEVIL HILL bassist Rex Brown: “We all have a lot of love and respect for Vinny and have been honored to have jammed with him over the last few years – we wish Vinny well with all his future endeavors, it has been a blast!”

“It’s been a great musical adventure from the beginning, but the time has now come to go our separate ways and continue to make music that we love,” says Appice of his decision to leave the band.

Featuring PANTERA and former DOWN bassist Rex Brown, ex-PISSING RAZORS frontman Dewey Bragg, acclaimed session/touring guitarist MARK ZAVON and now TYPE O NEGATIVE, DANZIG and A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH drummer Johnny Kelly, KILL DEVIL HILL deliver a crushing sound that combines a contemporary feel with a classic aesthetic that few bands today can rival. “After years of planning, touring, writing and learning, and after ups and downs, arguments and agreements, I have grown to not only love the music industry, but understand it and respect it,” says co-founder BEN BRUCE. “KBB Records is a label run by artists, for artists. With my love and passion for music along with my knowledge and understanding of the music industry it’s our goal to work alongside incredible artists of all genres and to create and release amazing music for the world to fall in love with.”
