Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, New Music, News with tags Carved Into Stone, metal, music, PRONG, rock, The Rock Tribune, TheRockTribune.com on January 10, 2012 by RandyPRONG are putting the final touches on their Long Branch Records debut with producer Steve Evetts. Says guitarist, vocalist and PRONG founder Tommy Victor of the making of the album: “It was hardest I’ve ever worked in the studio on any record I’ve ever been involved with.” PRONG (whose lineup includes bassist Tony Campos and drummer Alexei Rodriguez) has taken a major step forward in their constantly evolving brand of sonic schematics.
Titled Carved Into Stone, the album is quintessentially PRONG. It stretches into the band’s earliest and dirtiest foundations on which the band was founded on New York’s Lower East Side to the present as a staple of today’s post-metal and rock scenes. “I always believed there were many dimensions to PRONG,” says Tommy. “Every record we’ve been associated with different scenes – hardcore, metal, industrial – even dance! I think this record brings all of that together and sounds very modern at the same time.”

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE PART WAYS WITH SINGER HOWARD JONES BAND STATEMENT ON THE MATTER IS AS FOLLOWS
Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, News, Releases with tags Howard Jones, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, metal, music, rock, The Rock Tribune, TheRockTribune.com on January 5, 2012 by Randy“To our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage. We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we’ve had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well. He has left big shoes to fill, so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of Killswitch, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the years and for sticking by us for all this time. We really do appreciate it and we very much look forward to having a new record for all of you in the not too distant future that we can all be proud of. Sincerely, Adam, Joel, Mike & Justin.”

Posted in Artist Watch, New Music, News, Releases, Uncategorized with tags BEYOND MAGNETIC, Hate Train, Hell And Back, Just A Bullet Away, metal, Metallica, music, Rebel Of Babylon, rock, The Rock Tribune, TheRockTribune.com on January 4, 2012 by Randy| January 4, 2012 – Los Angeles, CA – Metallica has announced that is “has decided to go old school” and will release its current digital EP, Beyond Magnetic, on CD worldwide at retail on January 30th and on January 31st in North America. The EP, released via all digital retailers on December 13th, features four tracks recorded during the sessions for 2008’s 2x-platinum Death Magnetic, the band’s fifth consecutive No. 1 album.
Said the members of Metallica of Beyond Magnetic: “During the Death Magnetic album sessions in 2007 and 2008, we originally recorded 14 songs. When it came time to pick the songs for the final album, we decided on 10 songs that you’ve all come to know over the last three years. Some of you may have heard bits and pieces of those other songs on ‘Mission Metallica’ (remember ‘Mission Metallica’?!) or heard rumors about them during the recording process, and wondered, ‘What ever happened to those other four songs???.’ We kept them in the vault and decided to pull them for our 30th anniversary celebration last month, so here are the four leftover tracks from the Death Magnetic sessions. They are ROUGH mixes, unfinished to their original degree of mixing from March ’08. These four songs were released as gift to our closest fans, the members of our Fan Club, to enjoy. Now they’re being made available to you.” Metallica celebrated its 30th anniversary as a band last month, performing four shows at the Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco, CA, exclusively for members of their fan club, the Metallica Club.
