Killswitch Engage to Embark on Alive or Just Breathing 10th Anniversary Tour :: Tour Launches November 24 in San Bernardino :: Band to Play Alive or Just Breathing in Full

Posted in All Metal, Artist Watch, New Music, News, Releases with tags , , , , , , , on October 1, 2012 by Randy
(New York, NY): On May 21, 2002, Killswitch Engage released their second album and Roadrunner Records debut, Alive or Just Breathing. The album went on to become definitive of the critic-created New Wave of American Heavy Metal genre, thanks to its explosive choruses, intensely personal, spiritual and provocative lyrics and ability to vacillate between extremely brutal and melodically beautifully. It was, in a word, a benchmark release.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the album, the band will be embarking on an intimate, crowd-pleasing Alive or Just Breathing 10th Anniversary Tour in the U.S, which launches on November 24 in San Bernardino and wraps on December 20 in Portland, Maine. KsE will be headlining the annual California Metalfest in San Bernardino, CA on November 24 to kick off the tour.

With original frontman Jesse Leach, who left the band shortly after AOJB’s release, back in the fold since early 2012, the time was more than perfect for the band to celebrate the album with a tour during which they will play the entire album from start to finish. They will also play other more recent hits.

It’s only appropriate that longtime Massachusetts cohorts Shadows Fall, who came up in the same scene as KsE, will serve as main support. Opening act Acaro also hail from Massachusetts, making it somewhat of a hometown affair.

“I honestly never thought I would have the opportunity to sing these songs on stage with Killswitch again,” Leach said. “Now here I am back in the band and celebrating 10 years of the release of this record. I am absolutely thrilled for this tour. I can’t wait to sing ‘Rise inside’ and ‘Just Barely Breathing’ among others. On top of it all, we have our good friends in Shadows Fall and Acaro joining us. This tour will be one we will all remember! “

Guitarist Joel Stroetzel echoed those sentiments, saying, “We’re all looking forward to this tour! It’s going to be a great time on all levels. Playing songs we haven’t played in many years, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Alive or Just Breathing with Jesse now back in the band, and just hanging out with some great old friends — we’re psyched.”

Advance tickets for all shows will be $20.02, in honor of the year the album was released. The band will also be making a limited number of tickets available per show for the price of $5.21, in honor of the date the album was released, to military personnel with the help of VetTix.org. Vet Tix pre-sale begins on October 2, while public onsales start October 5.

Alive or Just Breathing was also recently elected to Decibel’s esteemed and elite Hall of Fame. The album’s extensive Hall of Fame profile will be featured in the December issue of the magazine, arriving just in time for the tour.

Multi-platinum electronic rockers ORGY recently released their first single in seven years, ‘Grime of the Century’, to highly positive radio reception across the nation. Always at the forefront of melding technology with dark pop, the new single is what Hollywood, CA’s ORGY is known for— dirty but fresh and new but never waning on the tried and true signature sound that the band has boasted during their almost twenty year career. Fans can purchase the single at www.grimeofthecentury.com and iTunes, and stream it now at Vimeo.com.

A behind the scenes video taken during the recording of ‘Grime of the Century’ is available for viewing now on YouTube.  A music video for ‘Grime of the Century’ will be filmed this weekend in Los Angeles.

“We’re really excited about all of the positive reception we’ve been getting on ‘Grime of the Century’ and can’t wait to head out on the road to perform that track and other new music for the masses,” states ORGY lead vocalist Jay Gordon. “We’re filming a brand new music video for the single in Los Angeles this weekend, too. We want to give fans a visual taste of the track before we set out on the road to perform it live!”

ORGY has been spending time in the studio recording new material, including collaboration with Grammy Award-winning EDM artist Skrillex. ORGY will be touring the USA again on the second leg of the “BAD BLOOD TOUR 2012” this fall. The band is scheduled to head out on the road to promote ‘Grime of the Century’ and plans to tour through 2013. The band is looking to tour Europe in the summer of 2013.

ORGY is:

Jay Gordon – Lead Vocals

Carlton Bost – Guitars, Gadgets & Vocals

ALL TIME LOW Announce Album Pre-Order & Headlining Tour “The Rock Show At The End Of The World”

Posted in Artist Watch, New Music, News, Releases with tags , , , , , , , on September 24, 2012 by Randy

The 4-piece pop-punk band, All Time Low, have announced their new album Don’t Panic out October 9th, 2012 on Hopeless Records available for pre-order here. Tickets for the upcoming headlining tour “The Rock Show At The End of the World” are available for purchase at www.AllTimeLow.com. Additionally, the band has revealed an album trailer with a sneak peak at a few of the songs off of Don’t Panic that you can watch here: smarturl.it/DPtrailer

With this record, a big part of the process was finding what made our band special on each of our past records,” says singer/guitarist Alex Gaskarth. “This time around, rather than taking influence from anything we were listening to at the time-or anything we want to touch on generationally-the goal was to make an album that we felt reflected the best aspects of our previous releases.

All Time Low (consisting of Gaskarth, lead guitarist Jack Barakat, bassist Zack Merrick and drummer Rian Dawson) albums’ first single For Baltimore debuted last week on AltPress.com to high praise. The track is an intricate combination of several distinct styles-spinning-top electric riffs, hard-charging chorus breakdowns and a tasteful, acoustic-driven bridge-which you can purchase on itunes here:  smarturl.it/FBitunes.”I’ve never really heard a song that Alex has written or we’ve written and not been completely stoked on it,” says Dawson. “But for some reason, these just felt more us. There was less need to force anything, less need to prove anything, less need to chase anything. It was All Time Low writing All Time Low songs.

The “The Rock Show At The End of the World” tour features The Summer Set, Downtown Fiction and Hit The Lights. On three select shows, The Early November will be performing instead of The Summer Set**. Tour kickoff starts Friday, October 12th inNew Jersey.
