While prepping for the release of “Any Man In America,” (Blue October’s seventh full length album) Justin Furstenfeld gave me a call with all its raw details.  The album is a chronological order of events dating back to their last release, “Approaching Normal.”  Pick up the new album August 16th…it plays out like a novel.  To hear more about it and the answers to some fan questions on Facebook, listen below:

MEGADETH ANNOUNCE THIRTEENTH ALBUM, TITLED TH1RT3EN ALBUM DUE OUT VIA ROADRUNNER RECORDS THIS NOVEMBER

BAND APPEARING ON ROCK STAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL ALL SUMMER LONG

HISTORIC BIG FOUR SHOW WITH METALLICA,

SLAYER AND ANTHRAX SET FOR SEPTEMBER 14th

New York, NY:  MEGADETH, easily one of the most recognized and culturally significant names in hard rock music for the past three decades, are pleased to announce the forthcoming release of their thirteenth album, titled TH1RT3ENThe album will be released November 1, 2011 via Roadrunner RecordsTH1RT3EN follows up 2009’s Endgame, which was one of the most celebrated albums of the pioneering band’s storied career. Anticipation is high and fans are anxious for a taste of new music from the legends, who have sold over 25 million albums globally throughout the course of their career, and they will get it imminently.

DAVE MUSTAINE is incredibly proud of the music put forth on the new recording, saying, “This record is the culmination of my work over the 13 records I recorded. There are moments on TH1RT3EN that capture my every emotion, and other moments where I am releasing feelings I never knew existed!  My proudest moments of my musical career are captured on TH1RT3EN.”

TH1RT3EN also marks the recorded return of bassist Dave Ellefson who was part of the band’s classic lineup from 1983 to 2002. In a move that delighted the band’s legion of diehards, Ellefson returned to performing live with Megadeth in early 2010 and has remained a fixture on the stage ever since. This is the first time Ellefson has played on a Megadeth record since 2002’s Rude Awakening.

The title has several levels of meaning, which leader and guitar deity DAVE MUSTAINE, who first picked up an axe at the age of 13, revealed in a recent chat with RollingStone.com, saying, “I was born on September 13th; this is my thirteenth record. It just seemed like it was the right thing to do to call it TH1RT3EN.”

The band is spending its summer dominating and decimating the main stage of the fourth annual Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival alongside Godsmack and Disturbed. The band will cap off a busy and headline-making summer by performing as part of “The Big 4” once again, this time in New York at Yankee Stadium alongside Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax. The only previous “Big 4” show in the U.S. took place in April in Southern California.

The band also recorded an original track, “Never Dead,” specifically for the NeverDead action-adventure video game franchise. “Never Dead” will appear on TH1RT3EN. Additionally, “Sudden Death” was recorded for Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock and will appear on the album.

With nine Grammy nominations under their bullet belts and having enjoyed five consecutive Platinum and multi-Platinum certifications, as well as seven Gold certifications during their career, MEGADETH need no introduction. They’ve essentially written the book on heavy metal and hard rock, gaining momentum with each critically lauded release. In 2010, MUSTAINE released his first book, Mustaine:  A Heavy Metal Memoir, which hit the New York Times bestseller list in hardcover (and is now being re-released in paperback).  In a review, the Toronto Globe & Mail said, “Dave Mustaine’s memoir is the narrative of a struggling, hard-won music career. It is also a story of survival, redemption and faith…Dave Mustaine is a legend in heavy metal; he has written music that has inspired generations of fans, and he has proven that with faith, anything is possible. Transcending simple religion and music, Mustaine’s Heavy Metal Memoir will leave you moved and inspired (8/25/10).”

Theory Of A Deadman’s Debut Single From The Truth Is… Reaches #1 on Active Rock Chart This Week

Band Kicks Off Carnival Of Madness Tour August 13th

Opening For 3 Doors Down This Fall

(August 9, 2011 – New York, NY) – Theory of a Deadman keep finding more things to celebrate.  Hot on the heels of a Top 10 album debut on the Billboard Top 200 with their latest Roadrunner Records release The Truth Is… last month, the band now find themselves on top of the Active Rock Chart hitting the #1 spot this week with the first single, “Lowlife.”  The single is the third #1 single of their career alongside former chart toppers “Bad Girlfriend” and “So Happy” from their platinum selling previous release Scars & Souvenirs. “Lowlife” has also sold more than 60,000 singles since its release on iTunes. The “Lowlife” video stars Donal Logue (known for his work on hit television shows such as ER and Grounded For Life) as the title character and antihero and is directed by Paul Boyd who is known for his work with Sting, Shania Twain and Seal to name a few.

The Truth Is… was released on July 12th via Roadrunner Records and exploded onto the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 at #8 scanning over 37,000 units its first week. The album also reached the #2spot on the iTunes Rock Album charts and the fan-discovered track “Hurricane” hit #9 on the iTunes Rock Songs Chart selling over 10,000 units. The album was produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, 3 Doors Down).

Theory of a Deadman has been together for over a decade and created a sound that fans worldwide have embraced through their previous releases: Scars & Souvenirs [2008], Gasoline [2005], and Theory of a Deadman [2002].   The band has become synonymous with building arena-ready hooks around hard rocking stories of good times, bad times and everything in between.  The band will be heading out on this summer’s Carnival of Madness tour alongside Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry, Adelitas Way and Emphatic. Sponsored by Monster Energy Drink, the Carnival of Madness Tour will tear through North America for 25+ dates beginning August 13 in Twin Lakes, WI. Upon wrapping the Carnival of Madness tour, the band will take a very shortbreak before heading out again to open for 3 Doors Down across America.

Theory of a Deadman is Tyler Connolly [Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar], David Brenner [Rhythm Guitar], Dean Back [Bass], and Joey Dandeneau [Drums].
